The village of Getaria is very famous for its history and typical places. Being hometown of the sailor Juan Sebastian Elkano, the first one who travelled round the globe, Getaria has kept its sailing tradition until today. Nowadays Getaria is the first shallow-sea fishing port on the Cantabric sore. It also has a sport port.
Here you can take walks breathing this atmosphere, the smell of salt water or fresh fish being grilled. Its gastronomy and its typical wine are worth to be tasted.
Famous people like the fashion designer Balenciaga are a good example of the modern and cosmopolitan character of its inhabitants.

Its access is made from Getaria. In the centre of the town, on the N-634 road, there is a by-pass where you must turn left steering for Meagas.1,8 km away, there is another by-pass where you should turn left for Bº Eizaga or Santa Barbara. From this point there is exactly 1 km left.
